Water and Sewer System Report - March 1999
By Mike Wellman, Water/Waste Water Manager

We had an unanticipated visit from Otis Hampton and Kim Sherwood of the Dept. of Ecology last week. They visited Lyle, Klickitat and Wishram sewer plants and will follow up with a letter regarding their findings.

Roosevelt Water and Sewer Systems
We have submitted the draft Water System Plan to Dept. of Health and they assure us they will review it as quickly as possible and forward on to the Dept. of Ecology. Approval is needed in order to proceed with the project. I would like to place a temporary office at Roosevelt during the construction phase. I have heard back from Mike Woods of PWTF, and there is no problem with covering the expense of this office with PWTF funds. Steve Wert, the soils scientist, have submitted a draft analysis to the Dept. of Ecology, a copy of which is available upon request. The Notice of Award was mailed to Mt. Baker Silo, however, we haven't issued a Notice to Proceed as of yet. I am spending close to 80% of my time in this project now.

Ponderosa Park Water System We have received a petition for LUD from lot owners in Ponderosa Park. The electrical engineering department has developed their cost estimates and the water department should have their costs together soon. The LUD will include 25 lots and the utilities will be for water, power and telephone conduit. We will keep you updated as to the progress of this LUD.
