New Employees Added to Staff
Ruralite - April 2002 A newsletter for customers of Klickitat PUD Klickitat PUD welcomed two new employees in the past month. Wanita Gordon is the new Customer Service Representative in White Salmon, and Ron Schultz is the new Metering & Substation Maintenance Engineer in Goldendale. Wanita Gordon handles all of the office duties for the White Salmon office, including processing payments and meter readings, requests for in/out orders and address/name changes, collections and payment arrangements, and will act as support assistant for Engineering and Operations Department. She has a background in banking, and has worked for the past 3 years for Sterling Savings Bank in the White Salmon branch. "I've always been on the customer service end of banking, and enjoy working with the public," said Wanita. "This job will allow me to work with customers who need my assistance." Wanita enjoys sewing, quilting, gardening and golf, and says she is very family-oriented. She and her husband Dan have a daughter living in the area, and a 4-year-old grandson. Born in White Salmon, Wanita grew up in Trout Lake, graduated from White Salmon, and even lived in Goldendale when her husband worked for the phone company. They then moved to Alaska for 19 years, Hawaii for 2 years, and then moved back to White Salmon 4 years ago to be closer to family. Ron Schultz joined Rick Pimley and Rex Hicks in the KPUD metering department, as the metering and substation maintenance engineer. He will oversee the development of metering technologies and work processes, develop and implement required inspection and maintenance programs for substations and associated equipment. In addition, he will develop and maintain operating orders, and manage construction projects within substations and switchyards. Formerly the Electrical Supervisor and Engineer for SDS Lumber in Bingen, Ron said he has wanted to work for the PUD for a long time. "I'm looking forward to expanding my knowledge, and working in a more professional environment," said Schultz. "The PUD has good people, is progressive in its projects, and I think a lot of the organization." In his free time Ron says he enjoys camping and traveling by motor home with wife Joyce, and riding 4-wheelers. He teaches ham radio classes, and maintains web sites for his church and the White Salmon police department. Most of all, Ron says he enjoys spending time with his family and pets. |
