Electric & Water Issues Addressed at Lyle and High Prairie Community Council Meetings

Klickitat PUD General Manager, Brian Skeahan, spoke before the High Prairie Community Action Council meeting held in January at the Tom Doll residence. Topics addressed included KPUD implementing one of the lowest rate increases in the region, the improved financial status of KPUD, use of power from the KPUD landfill gas plant, and BPA/KPUD power sales contracts. KPUD was pleased at the large turn out for such a rural area. The High Prairie Community Action Council is a very active council, which had 18 members present for their January meeting.

At the January Lyle Community Council Meeting, KPUD Water/WW Superintendent, Doug Miller, outlined immediate and future plans for the Lyle Water/Wastewater System and answered questions. Plans for the Lyle System during 2002, include fencing at the upper reservoir, installation of a screen on the lower reservior, and installation of new security lighting. A complete water system flushing will also take place to remove sediment from the pipes. Doug assured customers that before system flushing took place, they would be notified by mail.
