Budget Payment Plan Helps You Manage Your Power BillsMore about Budget Pay
If higher power bills during heating season strain your budget, check out the PUD’s Budget Payment Plan. Budget customers pay the same amount for electricity each month, year round.
Power use for the average residential customer looks like this chart -— a high bill of $108 one month, a few months later a bill for $86 and a few months later, one for $55. You’re never sure what to expect.
The Budget Payment Plan takes the guesswork out of your power bill. In May, we take your power use for the past year and divide that amount by 12. That becomes your budget payment for the next 12 months. You pay the same amount in a year, but in 12 equal, predictable and convenient payments.
You can sign up for the Budget Payment Plan by calling our Customer Service staff at the phone numbers below, filling out this electronic form, or by returning the sign-up form in your May bill. Either way, May is the time to start the budget pay cycle and look forward to equal bills for the next 12 months.
