Weatherization Rebates
Klickitat PUD offers customers a new way to weatherize their homes in any energy saving and cost efficient way with its Conservation Rate Credit Program. This program offers rebates to customers in a variety of catagories including:
Appliances
Air to Air Heat Pumps
Duct Sealing
Insulation
Windows
Solar Rebates
Irrigation
Commercial Lighting
They also offer a Loan Program for any item that qualifies for a rebate.
Listed below is the criteria which must be met to qualify for rebates is these catagories. Rebate packets and applications can be printed out online or obtained at your local KPUD office from the Energy Service Specialist, Sharon.
Clothes Washers
Clothes washers which qualify for rebates must be installed in a residence that has an electric hot water heater and be a Klickitat PUD customer. Below is a list of qualifying models.
Requirements: Must be intalled in existing structures only where primary source of heat is electric.

KPUD will pay up to $800.00 on heat pumps*. Some restrictions do apply. Criteria listed below:

Heat Pump Application Packet Available in PDF Format.
Klickitat PUD will pay $300.00 for sealing existing duct work. Work has to be performed by a PTCS certified technician and pass air leakage testing. This measure may not be eligible in conjunction with Heat Pump rebates.

Klickitat PUD pays $1.50 per square foot on windows up to a maximum of $500.00 per household.

Windows and Insulation Application Packet Available in PDF Format.
The rebate is based upon rated output and is $400 per kW up to a maximum of 3 kW. ($1,200) This is for residences not recreational type solar installations, but the house does not have to have electric heat, the solar just needs to offset an existing electrical load for the house. The panels and inverters have to be certified by the California Energy Commission. A list of contractors will be included in the customer packets.

KPUD offers a rebates in Irrigation for Pump Motors and sprinkler equipments. For more information on Irrigation specifics please read our Irrigation Flyer.

Upgrades – $0.70 to $87.50 per unit up to $5,000.00 per customer

Lighting (T8 lamps/ballasts 1-4 lamps) Retrofits – $5.60 to 21.00 per unit up to $5,000.00 per customer

Any item that qualifies for a rebate is eligible for a loan at 4.9% financing. Loans are issued from $1,000.00 up to $10,000.00 to customers in good standing.
