The 1999 financial report for the PUD shows that costs to purchase and deliver power to our customers accounted for the bulk of our expenses for 1999, and income from the sale of that power accounted for the bulk of our revenue.

Most of the power we sell comes from Bonneville Power Administration, but about 12 percent comes from our small hydro plant at McNary Dam. A smaller percentage comes from power sales on the open market.

Our new power plant at the Roosevelt Regional Landfill brought in $1.18 million in revenue, compared with $1 million in expenses to operate the plant and retire its debt. All of the output from the plant is being sold to three Washington PUDs (Snohomish PUD in Everett, Benton PUD in Pasco, and Clallam PUD in Port Angeles) and Goldendale Aluminum.
